Giải được tổ chức từ 21/8 đến 31/8/2024 tại Viên Chăn, Lào gồm 3 nội dung: Cờ tiêu chuẩn, Cờ nhanh và Cờ chớp các hạng tuổi 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, trên 50 và trên 65 tuổi. Sau giải trẻ Đông Nam Á sẽ tiếp theo là Giải quốc tế Lào mở rộng.

Laos Chess Association (LCA) and Laos Chess Federation (LCF), under the auspices of ASEAN Chess Confederation (ACC), have the honour of inviting participants from ASEAN members (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam & Timor Leste) and all its Dialogue Partners (Australia, China, China-Hong Kong, China-Macau, India, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, South Korea and, USA) to participate in the 22nd ASEAN+ Age-Group Chess Championships to be organised in Vientiane, Laos, from 21st to 31st August, 2024.

2.0 Eligibility
2.1 Players from the countries and territories listed above shall have the right to participate and they shall be responsible for all their expenses.
2.2 There shall be 16 categories: namely Under-6, Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20, with separate events for Open and Girls.
2.3 The players should not have reached their respective age before 1st January 2024.
2.4 There shall be 4 categories for Senior>50 and Senior>65 for Open and Women. Such players must reach the required age anytime during the year 2024.
2.5 The ACC reserves the right to merge categories in case of insufficient entries.

3.0 Time Control
3.1 Standard Chess: Each player has 90 minutes plus increment of 30 seconds.
3.2 Rapid Chess: Each player has 25 minutes.
3.3 Blitz Chess: Each player has 5 minutes.

4.0 Pairings
4.1 In the last 2 rounds, where possible, players from the same countries/ territories and who have scored more than 50% shall not be paired to play each other.

5.0 Medals
5.1 Medals shall be awarded to the top 3 positions in each event and category.
5.2 Individual Medals: Where there is a tie, not more than 3 players shall receive the same coloured medal. Not more than 5 medals shall be awarded.
Example:
• If 2 players tied for first and 2 players tied for third, then, 2 Gold Medals and 2 Bronze Medals shall be awarded, and no Silver Medal will be awarded.
• If 3 players tied for first, no Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded.
• If more than 3 players tied for first, then the 3 highest players based on tie-break shall be awarded the Gold Medals and no Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded.
• After awarding the first and second positions, if more than 3 players tied for third, only 3 Bronze Medals will be awarded based on tie-break.
5.3 Team Medals shall be awarded based on the total score of the top three players of a country/ territory. In case of a tie, tie-break of each player shall be determined.

6.0 ACIPA
ASEAN CHESS Insurance Premium Awards (USD 26,400)
6.1 The total score achieved in all 3 events (Standard, Rapid & Blitz) will be added and the top 3 players in each category from Under-20 and below shall be awarded an annual Insurance Premium equivalent to USD 200 (total USD 600) for 3 years. In case of tie, the order of the score of Standard, then Rapid, then Blitz. In case of a further tie, 8.0 will be applied in the above order.

7.0 Seniors >50 and Seniors >65
7.1 The total score achieved in all 3 events (Standard, Rapid & Blitz) will be added and the top 3 players in each category in Seniors >50 & Seniors >65 shall have their Registration Fees waived for the following 3 years. In case of tie, the order of the score of Standard, then Rapid, then Blitz. In case of a further tie, 8.0 will be applied in the above order.

8.0 Tie-Break
8.1 Direct Counter, Buchholz, Median Buchholz 1 & 2, Buchholz Cut 1 & 2, Sonneborn Berger.

9.0 Appeals Committee
9.1 The Appeals Committee will be appointed at the Technical Meeting. An appeal must be accompanied with a deposit of USD 100 (One Hundred US Dollars), must be submitted within 15 minutes of the completion of the relevant playing session.

10.0 Registration Fee
10.1 The Registration is inclusive of all three events: Standard, Rapid and Blitz.

10.2 The Registration Fee for Category Seniors>65 shall be USD 200 to paid by 20th June.

11.0 Playing Venue
11.1 Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel Grand Ballroom.

12.0 Official Hotel: Landmark DRC Residential Hotel
12.1 All players and accompanying persons are obliged to stay in the Official Hotels and shall be accredited and attend the activities stated in the Schedule.
12.2 The room rates (inclusive of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) per day per person shall apply to all players and accompanying persons.

13.0 Entry Visa into Laos
13.1 No visa is required for Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
13.2 Those not listed above should check and apply online.

14.0 Social Evening
14.1 It is a custom that each country/ territory shall select some of their players participating in the AAG to perform a show of their choice. Please bring your own musical instrument(s) and/or CD/DVD for use in the above.
Prizes will be awarded!

15.0 Registration of Participation & Accompanying Persons
